We Did Four in a Bed!
That's right — Let's Glamp Retro appeared on Channel 4's popular show Four in a Bed! It was one of the most exciting, nerve-wracking, and downright hilarious experiences of our lives.
What's the Show About?
Four in a Bed is a Channel 4 daytime show where four accommodation owners take turns staying at each other's establishments. After each stay, they rate the experience and decide how much they'd be willing to pay. At the end of the week, the scores are revealed in the infamous “payment day”.
It's competitive, it's honest, and it can get wonderfully dramatic. We absolutely love watching it, so when the opportunity came along to actually be on it, we jumped at the chance.
Our Experience
From the first phone call to the final reveal, here's what it was like.
Getting the Call
When the producers first got in touch, we couldn't believe it. Us? On telly? After a chat about the site, they loved the retro theme and said we'd be perfect for the show.
The Big Preparation
In the weeks leading up to filming, we went into overdrive. Mark was polishing, fixing, and perfecting every last detail. Dawn was organising, cleaning, and planning the welcome experience down to the smallest touch.
Lights, Camera, Glamping!
When the film crew arrived, it was surreal. Cameras everywhere, sound booms, lighting rigs. The other contestants arrived and watching their reactions as they walked into our retro pods was priceless.
Staying at the Other Places
The best part was getting to stay at other people's places. We visited some absolutely cracking B&Bs and met some wonderful people.
The Dreaded Payment Day
Sitting around that table, waiting to find out what everyone thought — it's properly nerve-wracking. We won't spoil the result, but we were absolutely chuffed!

Walking through a door on TV looks simple, right? Not when you've done it fourteen times from different angles!
It Takes Ages
What you see in a 45-minute episode took days to film. Early starts, late finishes, and a lot of waiting around.
The Hidden Mics
You wear a microphone literally all the time. ALL the time. It's very easy to forget it's there.
Real Friendships
The other contestants were genuinely lovely and we're still in touch with all of them.
The Four in a Bed Effect
Being on the show was amazing in itself, but the impact on our business was incredible. After our episode aired, bookings flooded in from all over the country.
It really put Let's Glamp Retro on the map. We went from being a hidden gem to a destination that people actively seek out.
